I volunteer for the ACS and to my knowledge there isn't an "official" shade of pink used for ribbons. A moderate shade of pink is more typical, but it does not really matter; the most important thing is to raise awareness.

I put a link under the "sources" to bc programs offered by the ACS…it shows the ribbon color we use.

I was 10 years old as well when my mom passed away from Breast Cancer. I know how hard it is and I understand. We are strong and our mothers are with us every day.

I'm not doing anything about it more than usual. I think most women are already aware that breast cancer exists.

It's not something I want to dwell on, or to be afraid of because I think that fearing something like that can actually help in bringing it into a person's life.

When I see information on how to prevent it — not using deodorant that contains aluminum, for instance, considering how many women have breast tumors that are precisely in that outer area there near the where the aluminum concentrates from the deodorant under the arms — and other information, I read it and I pass it on.

I'm very sorry for your wife's struggles with it, and happy for her that she is finished with her treatment – I hope it was successful and that she lives to be 120!

And I pray I never get it, myself. Or anyone I know.

make covers for individual tissue packs out of pink material.

    These are cute and fun

    Hershey's Kiss Roses
    by Michelle Jones

Use leftover red plastic wrap from Christmas to make these sweet roses for Valentine's Day, they are very inexpensive to make and guaranteed to be a big hit!

    * * *

You can either give a single Hershey Kiss Rose or wrap them together by the dozen for your special sweetheart.

Here are the supplies needed for each rose…

2 Hershey's Kiss chocolate candies, any flavor
    Pink or red cellophane wrap
Floral stems (with at least 1 or 2 leaves)
    Green floral tape

    Directions:

Place the two Hershey's Kisses together, bottom end to bottom end, and hold in place. Wrap the Kisses with a small square of cellophane from top to bottom, creating a rose like shape.

Gather the cellophane together at the bottom of the rosebud, but before twisting the cellophane completely closed, add a pre-cut floral stem with the leaf close to the bud.

Wrap the bottom cellophane closed with floral tape, going around the stem and pulling it tight all the way down to the end.

Now you have a beautiful Hershey's Kiss Rose and can make as many as you want!

You know how people usually use the colour pink to support breast cancer?

Get some ribbons and put them in this design
    http://www.rhettsmith.com/blog/archives/images/Breast-Cancer-Ribbon-thumb.gif

    thats in promotion for it.

And do love heart lollipops count as food? If not then sell them, for every ribbon you buy you get a free love heart lollipop.

If you cant give away lollipops then something else like an eraser or a pencil or a little novelty or something like that.

Okay, the cupcakes can be positioned like the pink ribbon thingy and frosted all pink. Done.

You can do two round cakes together on a sheet and decorate like a bustier or a bikini top if you want, it would get a laugh if tastefully done.

Do a cake with a "sailor arm" that has the stereotypical "MOM" tatoo on it. Then write something to the effect of, Do it for Mom, support breast cancer research. The sailor arm could have a pink ribbon in the hand or something.

Do an old fashioned style cake with the trellis and rose design, maybe with a pretty white rocker on it with a kitten on the rocker. Say something like "Help her stay around to smell the roses."

Target. Target department stores often seem to have breast cancer awareness shirts and the like. The little pins and stuff are only usually available during annual breast cancer awareness week or month. Maybe see the site. National Breast Cancer Foundation
